PATRICK GRAF
Print, Motion Design
Patrick Graf is a man of many talents. He is one of those people to envy who probably have massive problems of concentrating on one thing, because they are good at anything. If one takes a look at his pictures and the success he earns you have to admit he went for the right one. But what i envy him about the most is something completely different. He posesses a further, less profitable but much more exciting talent. The imitation of sounds. Patrick can create an appropiate soundscape to any given situation, scene or topic. It is a complete mistery how he does this. It’s a little bit like the guy from „Police Academy“, only with the difference that Patrick tops his sound presentation with a lively visual illustration through gestures. This goes from „Rocky“ to „Terminator“ or „Naked Gun“. He has them all. There is one of these moments i can recall especially. We were standing together on a bridge over the river Rhine, wearing our bathing trunks and differing about who should dive first. Inspired by the silence surrounding us and the subliminal fear to dive, Patrick sits into the corner and starts to play on an imaginary mouth organ the first tunes of „Once upon a time in the West“. By the way – better than i could ever manage on a real mouth organ. - Seve von Ow
